PROFILE
I am a freelance French tutor who was born and educated in Bordeaux, in the South West of France. I developed a passion for English at the tender age of 8 and decided to take private lessons with a native tutor before starting secondary school. At the age of 14 I was selected to join the American section of François Magendie High School in Bordeaux. I met students and teachers from different backgrounds and countries and was exposed to different anglo-saxon cultures from an early age.
After completing my Master's degree in Applied Languages (French, English & Spanish) I perfected my English by working in London as a trilingual sales agent for Air France until I married my Australian husband and moved to Australia. Although working in the tourism industry was enjoyable it was not fulfilling enough for me and I felt the need to help others by spreading my French language and culture knowledge so I started teaching and found my vocation.
My teaching experience includes General, Corporate and Academic teaching for private clients, schools and important organisations. I enjoy developing and teaching short and long-term French courses to my clients.
Being an expatriate myself I perfectly understand the settlement problems and language barriers encountered while living overseas. My goal is to help my students achieve the best possible results by providing them with the necessary tools to be able to communicate effectively and confidently in both business and day-to-day situations. All my courses involve cross-cultural awareness activities as I strongly believe that languages and cultures are interlinked and interdependent and their teaching and learning should be too.
